Writing tasks:

Monday: Go through this powerpoint (up to slide 7) to start learning how to create your own news bulletin about the zoo escape! Read this Pobble example and highlight the key features, then magpie any words and phrases you could use in your own work. Now read this list of facts about what happened and try to put them in the right order to help you structure your bulletin.

Tuesday: Continue to use this powerpoint (slides 8-19) to learn how to use subordinate clauses and different sentence starters, including fronted adverbials, in your writing. Then complete this task.

Wednesday: Continue to use this powerpoint (slides 20-26) to learn how to organise paragraphs around a theme. Then complete this task.

Thursday: Continue to use this powerpoint (slides 27-33) to continue learning how to organise paragraphs around a theme. Read the WAGOLLs and make a list of the skills you can see.

Friday: Can you now use all the skills you have learned this week and the examples you have seen to write and perform your own live news bulletin? Get someone to film you and email it to your teacher - we would love to see what you can come up with!

 

Topic work:

Monday: PE - Watch this video to get your body moving!

Tuesday: Geography: Click on this powerpoint to learn about the different stages and features of a river. Then complete this task.

Wednesday: French - Click on this link to learn how to talk about birthdays in French.

Thursday: Science - Click on this powerpoint to learn about how sounds change over distance. Then have a go at this sorting task, and if you're able to also try the experiment at home, write about what you learned using this text.

Friday: Music - Click on this powerpoint to learn how to sing part of a song using British Sign Language. Then complete this task and if you like, use this sign language alphabet to try spelling your name!
