Week 7 - How do you feel?

This week's theme explores feelings. In school, the children are encouraged to talk about their feelings. What makes them feel happy/sad/excited/angry?
Grown-ups: Talk to your child about different feelings that your child may experience. It is important for your child to know that everybody feels sad or angry or lonely sometimes. How can we overcome these feelings? What can we do to help our friends if they are feeling sad?
- Listen to this week's stories and discuss the different feelings in the stories.
- Think about a time that you felt worried or scared. Who or what made you feel better?
- Think about a time that you felt happy and excited. Draw a picture of this happy experience.

Name Writing
Your name is very important. It is part of who you are! It is important that you recognise your name and start to learn to write it. Ask a grown-up to write it down for you. Now have a try at forming some of the letters yourself. Practise this every day!
Maths
- We would like you to sort some items into groups by their colour. When you have listened to the story 'The Colour Monster' go on a colour hunt around your house. Can you find some items that are red, some items that are blue and some items that are yellow. Put them all on the floor and sort them into their colour groups. You could choose different colours!

- Practise counting forwards to 10. When you are confident at counting to 10, practise counting to 20. (You might enjoy listening to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VLxWIHRD4E
- Every time you go upstairs, count the steps as you move up 1. Remember to say only one number for each step.
- Sing or listen to a range of number rhymes. You will find some on youtube or BBC Bitesize.
