Be The Best You Can Be

Previous Years Work

2020 - 2021

Eid Mubarak 2021

To celebrate Eid, we learned about Ramadan and how different families choose to celebrate. We learned about henna and even managed to see some beautiful henna on some of our classmates! We used our new knowledge to create henna designs.

Local Artist Art Project 2021

In Art, we have been studying an artist local to Manchester named Stanley Chow. We were SO lucky to receive a special video message from him with some top tips (watch it on the Art page here) and we looked closely at his unique style of portraits. We then chose someone from pop culture that we like and drew a portrait of them in his style. Have a look at some of the examples below. Our teachers were so proud of us!

Sewing Project 2021

In Year 4, we have been learning how to sew! We have learnt how to thread a needle and two types of stitches - overstitch and running stitch. We have used these new skills to make phone cases. Have a look at our amazing work below.

Kindness Post Cards 2020

Moston Lane Primary School has been lucky enough to take part in a project called 'Write Up Your Street' run by Start Well Develop Well Team from Manchester's Buzz Health and Wellbeing service.
The project aimed to use hand-written postcards as a way to build intergenerational connections across the city. The project has involved older residents sharing their lived experience by writing 'words of wisdom' including support and encouragement to primary school children.  The children have then written the residents a heart warming reply - you can see them below!

2019-2020

Viking Clay Artwork

In Year 4, we sculpted Vikings out of clay in Art. We learnt different techniques and used a variety of different tools to add finer details.

Bedside Lights

In Design and Technology, we have designed, created and evaluated our own bedside lights. To make them, we used cardboard and paper and decorated them using pom-poms, sequins and tissue paper. We used what we have been learning about in Science to create a lamp and light that works. We made sure that we made a prototype to test our lights before we made our final design.

Take a look at our amazing bedside lights below.
